Economic Impact Payment Prepaid Debit Cards

The IRS is now sending out some taxpayer’s stimulus payments on prepaid debit cards. The debit cards arrive in a plain envelope from Money Network Cardholder Services. As a result, taxpayers may have accidentally thrown out their stimulus payments mistaking them for credit card offers or other spam mailing.

IRS became aware of taxpayer concerns and posted specific questions regarding the issuance and receipt of the prepaid debt cards.

If your card was lost or destroyed, you may request a free replacement through MetaBank Customer Service immediately. The $7.50 fee is only waived for the first reissuance of any EIP card.

Below is a link to the IRS website with dozens of frequently asked questions. The specific questions related to prepaid debit cards can be found starting with question 44.
