Hertzbach honored with award for Technological Innovation

We are proud to share that Hertzbach has been honored with the award for Technological Innovation at the 2019 BDO Alliance USA Conference. The theme of the conference focused on the importance of making “Clear Choices.” The awards were centered on four areas of focus – Exceptional Client Experience, Targeted Growth, Exceptional and Engaged People and Technological Innovation. Hertzbach was recognized for enthusiastically embracing technological innovation and its competitive advantages. Hertzbach was selected as the winner of this award from over 200 independent CPA firm members of the BDO Alliance USA.

Within the last year, we have implemented technological solutions firm-wide:

Cloud Migration: We have moved from on-premise engagement software solutions to audit engagement software hosted in the cloud. This migration offers unparalleled efficiency and flexibility for staff and clients. We are also improving on our standard deliverable cloud portals and client request transfer-ability. This is being done by expanding options to suit the specific needs for each client.

Automation: Increasing efficiencies across the firm is incredibly important to us. It’s something we evaluate and collaborate on often. We are currently creating custom automations and bots for repetitive audit and tax procedures, implementing custom internal database cross platform integrations-connections to eliminate duplication of work, and utilizing custom business intelligence tools to find the answers we need.

Digital Efficiency: We have also enacted several major online processes within the last 6 months. These processes both indirectly and directly affect our clients and our internal operations in a positive way. Here are the improved processes:

  • Client Payments – an advanced online client payment system
  • Accounts Payable – an automated online accounts payable program
  • Staff Scheduling – a cloud-based staff resource planning system
  • Document Acquisition – a secure online solution for collection of tax documents from clients
  • 1040s – streamlined with a 1040 tax automation program
  • Business and Employee Expenses – an online expense program
