Staff 1

Years 1 – 2
performs detailed assurance work; prepares tax returns; gains proficiency with firm software and research tools; develops workpaper documentation skills.

 

 

 
 

Staff 2

Years 2 – 3
frequent interaction with clients; mentor new staff and interns; increase knowledge of client industries and practice service areas.

 
 

Senior

Years 3 – 5
responsible for completion of engagements; in charge of engagement team; reviews workpapers; builds client relationships; assists with firm committees; CPA exam passed.

 
 

Supervisor

Years 5 – 6
coordinates, directs and reviews complex accounting and tax engagements; supervises engagement team; develops specialized technical proficiency; takes increased responsibility for effective staff utilization.

 
 

Manager

Years 6 – 10
responsible for multiple engagements; liaison between partner, client, and the accounting staff; develops industry specialization; resolves technical issues on engagements; assists with firm marketing activities. 

 
 

Principal

Years 10 – 12
supervises all aspects of client engagements; coordinates staffing and scheduling of client work; responsible for professional development of staff; participates in firm management and administrative responsibilities; continues to develop leadership skills; increases role in business development.

 
 

Stockholder

Years 12+
